As a coach, you’re constantly expected to read the room and adjust your plan based on how the team is feeling. You need to connect with each athlete - who (on average) is less comfortable opening up than in the past.

It’s a big problem! We’ve seen the mental health stats from the CDC showing over a third of young people are chronically depressed.

Leading coaches have started to implement a daily check-in survey:
It seems like a lot to do this successfully, but here’s how it works for my team on CrewLAB:
Everyone’s prompted daily by the app to record how they’re feeling and how they’ve slept.
This is encouraged by a streak and a summary - athletes learn to associate wellbeing with training, and over time they develop better habits.
It’s all aggregated in my coach dashboard under the “insights” tab - color coded to highlight at-risk athletes.
I get a pulse on everyone the team. Athletes become more mindful about their sleep, mood and more; and they’re already in the right place to check today’s schedule and get updates from the chat. That’s why on CrewLAB, check-ins are just the start.
